Directions for Use
For Surgical Instruments
1. Add 16 ounces of Surgistain® to one (1) gallon of hot water (50˚-80˚C or 122˚-176˚F).
2. Place solution in a non-porous container (preferably stainless steel or Pyrex glass).
3. Place thoroughly cleaned and opened instruments in a stainless steel wire bottom instrument tray.
4. Place in Surgistain® solution for 15 minutes (gross or heavily stained instruments – soak for 30 minutes).
5. Remove instruments from Surgistain® solution and rinse thoroughly under running water.
For Stainless Steel Carts and Trays
1. Add 16 ounces of Surgistain® to one (1) gallon of hot water (50˚-80˚C or 122˚-176˚F).
2. Using gloves, apply solution and thoroughly scrub cart or tray with a hard bristle brush.
3. Rinse thoroughly with water. 4. Case cart may require towel drying if manual cart wash is used.
For Ultrasonic and Automatic Cleaning Devices
1. Pour 16 ounces of Surgistain® per gallon of water (500 ml per 4 liters) directly into detergent reservoir. Or Calibrate the washer dilution rate at 16 ounces per gallon of water (500 ml per 4 liters).
2. Following ultrasonic or automatic cleaning remove the tray of instruments and rinse thoroughly under running water. This step can be eliminated if the instruments are immediately cleaned in a washer/disinfector.
