Heelift® AFO, like all Heelift® Boots, allows for patient-specific customization. The semirigid polypropylene brace is designed to provide the best possible control of the ankle’s position and motion, while also allowing for limited weight bearing.

An additional forefoot strap secures the foot and helps support the forefoot.

The Heelift® AFO has a non-slip traction sole that prevents slippage. This feature is ideal for transfers from bed, wheelchair, commode or physical therapy.

For prevention and healing of open wounds and decubitus
Provides control of the ankle’s position and motion
Allows for limited weight bearing

2 types of foam available:
convoluted (Standard) and smooth

Indications:

dorsiflexion support for drop foot, paralyzed legs or comatose patients
healing and prevention of pressure ulcers on the foot
diabetic foot syndrome and decubitus
plantar flexion contracture
treatment of plantar fasciitis for at-risk patients
braden pressure-sore risk scale of 17 points or less
sedentary diabetic patients with neurological sensory deficit
foot pulse not palpable
Purpose:

effective off-loading in the region of the heel, especially for bed-ridden patients
the semi-rigid splint offers support for limited but safe mobility
skin and soft tissue viability with a microclimate friendly material
Features:

soft, smooth nylon coating allows the leg to “glide” from one side to the other
2 types of interior foam available
non-slip traction bottom – Easy on – Easy off
can be washed (60° C) or autoclaved for sterility
ventilation holes for increase comfort
additional forefoot strap provides fixation and support of the foot
